ABOUT THE STORE
Our mission at the new and improved Heartland Health Food is to meet our customers wherever they are in their journey toward a healthy lifestyle. Since changing ownership in 2019, we have been delighted to welcome customers old and new into our expanded store.
Want to know what’s new at Heartland? Check out our expanded gluten free options, browse our self-serve teas and spices, or find farm-fresh eggs, organic produce, and Stewardson’s Triple S Meats at the back of the store. Our juice and smoothie bar is always buzzing! Stop by the health and beauty area near the register for handmade soaps and essential oils, or shop our baking aisle for gluten-free and artisan flours and sugar replacements. We take pride in offering the widest variety of organic, gluten free, paleo, keto, vegan, vegetarian, and locally grown products in the greater Effingham area.
ABOUT US
The new owner and staff at Heartland Health Food are excited to build on the foundation laid since 2011 under its previous ownership. The new owner Prima Torbeck — along with team members Elizabeth Lewis, Andrea Glover, and Maria Deaconescu — is glad to serve any and all dietary needs. From custom smoothies and juices to special orders and requests, the Heartland staff is here to help with any questions you may have.
At Heartland, you’ll discover options for every diet, from gluten-free and low-sodium to paleo, low-carb, vegan, flexitarian, dairy-free, Whole 30, and much more. And remember, you can always purchase gift certificates or gift baskets for the health-conscious person in your life!
Heartland Health Food strives to recycle cardboard, food scraps, packing materials, and other waste as much as possible. We also welcome reusable bags, bottles, and bulk containers!
